A network of electric city bikes that distinguishes itself from the collective hubs in the Asker-Kongsberg axis is on the drawing board. After a round of preliminary summer and autumn 2016, the foundation is now laid for moving forward.

The sketches of how such a coherent system in the municipalities Asker, Røyken, Hurum, Lier, Drammen, Lower Eiker, Upper Eiker and Kongsberg can function has been presented to both administrative and political levels in the municipalities. The reception has been positive. Now the work is starting to add a strategy for further work.

A transition to more efficient and climate-friendly transport in the Asker-Kongsberg area depends on smart solutions. A well-coordinated interaction between different modes of transport can help make climate-friendly options smarter and better. This project will develop the interaction between public transport and bicycle, and make both means of transport more effective and appropriate. Public transport today ensures that the traveler arrives well closer to his destination, but in many cases the first / last part is missing. This will be too decisive for private cars to be preferred to the collective option. If the first and last stretching can be done efficiently and smoothly, this obstacle will be reduced. Should the goals of reducing the use of private cars be achieved, attractive alternative solutions must be established.
